Tata Sierra EV
The front is butch and muscular and the squared wheel arches add that bit of oomph factor, bringing in the Land Rover Defender appeal to an extent. The big glass area at the back certainly reminds you of the Sierra SUV. The continuous single LED tail lamp unit at the rear is a modern touch for sure and the overall proportions keep the robust impression intact.
Kia Sonet
1.2-litre Petrol And The 1.0-litre Turbo Petrol, While The 1.5-litre Diesel From The Seltos Is Likely To Be Offered On The Sonet. Transmission Options Will Include a 6-Speed Manual And a DCT Automatic Too. Volkswagen Taigun
The new Volkswagen Taigun will be one of the four new SUVs that Volkswagen plans to bring in the next couple of years. The Taigun is expected to draw power from the 1.0-litre turbocharged TSI petrol engine that will develop about 113 bhp and 200 Nm of peak torque. Transmission options will include the 6-speed manual and possibly the 7-speed DSG automatic gearbox too. The 2020 Auto Expo had a bunch of global debuts. The lack of participants definitely did not dull the sheen of the Auto Expo. From concept showcases like the Haval Concept H, the Tata Sierra EV, Kia Sonet, Skoda Vision IN, Mahindra Funster to production ready models like the New-generation Hyundai Creta, Hero Electric AE-47 and the Volkswagen Taigun, all these models were shown for the first time at the 2020 Auto Expo. Choosing a winner for the best global debut was a welcome headache but after much deliberation, the jury members did reach a consensus and voted for the Volkswagen Taigun, which was much deserving!
Mercedes-AMG GT 63S 4MATIC+ 4-door Coupe
The Stuttgart-based luxury German carmaker launched the Mercedes-AMG GT 63S 4MATIC+ 4-door Coupe (yes! You read that right) at the Auto Expo 2020 at a price of Rs 2.42 crore (ex-showroom Delhi). The AMG GT 63S is the world’s fastest four-door coupe that develops 630bhp and 900Nm from its fire-breathing 4.0-litre V8 engine. Power is delivered via a nine-speed AMG Speedshift MCT 9G gearbox that allows the coupe to sprint to a top-speed of 315kmph.
Volkswagen ID Crozz
Volkswagen had a slew of SUVs to showcase this year. But grabbing eyeballs with its red paint scheme and clean design lines was the ID Crozz Concept. It is one of the newest members of the ID family and is much closer to production than we know. When will it hit the streets? We’ll have to wait a bit longer to find out.
Mercedes-AMG G 63
Filigree technology meets monumental sound. The new Mercedes-AMG G 63 with AMG 4.0-litre V8 biturbo engine, an output of 430 kW (585 hp), and a peak torque of 850 Nm makes every trip an intense experience. Both for the occupants and for those at the side of the road. The adjustable AMG performance exhaust system makes the air vibrate and allows the driver to choose their own sound: from understated for long-distance cruising to highly emotive for rapid bursts of speed. AMG RIDE CONTROL lets the driver adjust the suspension at the push of a button, enabling the new Mercedes-AMG G 63 to adapt to the current on or off-road terrain as well as to individual driver requirements.
