Bored of the same old eating joints in the Tricity? The same old pizzas & burgers at the regular joints or some eminent food chains don’t impress you anymore? Don’t worry, the Glimpse team’s Food Drive has prepared a list of some of the most happening food hubs across the city beautiful to tame your cravings for multi-cuisine food, without burning a hole in your pocket.
The Tricity finally has a hub to quench your thirst for Mexican food, as Jiten Sibal took the initiative to open up an outlet of the USA based Mexican food chain, Riliberto’s in the city beautiful. Craving for authentic Mexican food since long, I and my friends thought of giving it a try. The outlook of the hub seemed fascinating and I asked the person at the counter to guide us about some of their special dishes and he mentioned about the Taco Salad bowl that is the special dish for summer and their signature dishes include Chimichanga, Grande Quesadilla and Fajitas. Other specialties being the Rili Special Volcano Potato Burrito that is lava of spices; Cheese Fiesta Potatoes for the kids, special thin crust pizza, and for those always in a hurry, we have Masala Crunchy Taco that is ready in just 2 minutes. Too confused about what to order and what not, we initially ordered for Super Nachos Salad, and their signature dishes Chimichanga, Grande Quesadilla and Fajitas. While the food was being prepared, we tried their special Mexican juices Horchata, Tamarindo and Jamaica. Honestly, I had never tasted such amazing beverages ever before, and in the meanwhile, we were served with the starter Super Nachos Salad, followed by the main course. The food seemed lip-smacking and the taste was a real treat to the taste buds. No compromise with quality or quantity, it was a true Mexican platter indeed. After enjoying the lovely food, I was so astonished to see the bill as it was so affordable. We were so tempted to try the other dishes as well, but we were already too full to eat even a single bite and so we left on the note to visit again and try the other delectable dishes next time.
I have been coming across my friends’ check-ins to this newly opened hub and being fascinated with their reviews and the big foodie I am, I visited this place located at the most famous Gehri route in Sector-11, Chandigarh. The interiors of the cafe are so pleasing to the eyes, and I was so relieved to know that the Aja food is prepared using organic ingredients, thus making it a great fusion of healthy & tasty food. The menu seems quite interesting and seemed like the gym lovers might be hitting this cafe quite often as they offer a wide range of vitamin & detox shakes that you usually cannot get easily in the market.
After inspecting the menu, we ordered Punjabi paneer pizza, Salsa brochettes and Veg quesadillas along with some cool beverages such as Cranberry lemonade, Basil lemonade and detox shake.
Salsa brochettes were the highlight of the meal served with a yummy dip. The Veg quesadillas were quite impressive, and the beverages were simply mind-blowing. The open kitchen is another attraction to keep things transparent, and the overall experience was deliciously amazing.
Dear Sandwich lovers of the city beautiful, be prepared to spoil yourself with the newly opened exclusive sandwich outlet Bigwich. Centrally located in Sector 9, Chandigarh Bigwich is a fresh and healthy new concept serving different yet authentic Italian, French and Indian bread baked fresh daily in their kitchens. Crafted with fresh, high-quality fillings, cheeses and vegetables, there are a whole lot of inspired and great sandwich options for you to enjoy.
The menu card offers a range of 25 different sandwiches that have been divided into 5 broad categories- Panini Sandwich, Focaccia Sandwich, Croissant Sandwich, Jumbo Grilled Sandwich and Sub Roll, to choose as per your choice. All of which are prepared using 14 different types of sauces. Bigwich also serves 3 varieties of special tadka rice in bowls- dal and rice combo, Palak rice and Aachari rice. All of which seemed lip-smacking, and we decided over Italiano and Mexicana Focaccia sandwiches along with Green Apple Mint Mojito , Hot Chocolate and Chocolash.
The food was delivered in no time and seemed delicious. I would highly recommend Green Apple Mint Mojito, a great refreshing beverage. The sandwiches stuffed with fresh veggies, herbs and sauces were good enough and the Hot Chocolate & Chocolash were simply amazing.
